I get this question ALOT!!  And my answer is the same everytime- The best cardio is the one you will do.  Minute for minute, running and the stair mill (usually) burn the most calories.  But what good does that do someone whose knees hurt when they run or who would rather poke their eyes out than spend more than 10 minutes on the stairmill?  Pick something you love to do, and make it a lifestyle.  If you like to cycle, then do it.  Join a cycling club, do some charity rides.  If you like to swim, see if there is a masters swim team around.  Often you can workout with them without going to any meets.  If you like fitness videos, get a group of friends together to do them with you.  The key to being fit is finding what "fits" your lifestyle!
